Walmart to mandate customers across US stores wear masks

Kohl's and Target shoppers will soon be required to wear face coverings inside their stores.

Sam's Club will require masks on July 20. Costco stores have required masks for customers and employees since May 4.

Walmart announced via social media that beginning today, all customers must wear a facial covering. Many corporations realize whether a state has a mask mandate or not, they must protect their customers and their employees.

"Currently about 65 percent of our more than 5,000 stores and clubs are located in areas where there is some form of government mandate on face coverings", Walmart explained in a statement.

Target also said in a statement that it would start requiring masks in all stores, according to CBS Boston. The company also is limiting the number of customers inside its stores at any one time. Customers shopping at Walmart stores nationwide will have to wear a mask starting July 20. At least one company, CVS, acknowledged that it will count on consumers to comply with the brand-new requirement. Schnucks will enforce mask requirements starting Monday.
