One technology is a new Covid test that uses polyamino acids to produce a result in 30 minutes, said Dani Gold, head of Israel's Directorate of Defence Research and Development.

The "unprecedented" delivery is a joint project of the health, defense and foreign ministries and the office of India's chief scientist, and has been weeks in the making, the Defense Ministry said in a press release.

A high-ranking Israeli defence ministry research and development team will soon be flying from Tel Aviv to New Delhi on a special flight.

The special flight bringing the team will also bring new emerging Israeli technology to India to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, which will be presented to India by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the private sector companies there.

"Finally, the plane will deliver mechanical ventilators which were given special permission by the Government of Israel for export to India", the statement said.

A few hours later, public health officials in the state registered one further death, taking the region's total COVID-19 death toll to 56.

"The cooperation between India and Israel on COVID-19 is a good example of harnessing the scientific and technological strengths that the two countries have for larger, common good".

The operation in India will enable the Israeli delegation to collect tens of thousands of samples in just 10 days and analyze them using computer systems based on artificial intelligence.

Hence, the Government of India has designated a local team of around 100 professionals, as well as a team dedicated to the construction of testing sites that will be operated jointly by the Israeli and Indian delegations.

All tests will be validated using PCR tests. The funding, logistics, cooperation and results are mutual, said Malka.

A second, low-cost biochemical test can be used at home and gives a result in 30 minutes. "It plays on the fact that Covid attacks the respiratory system".

Isothermal testing is a biochemical testing method that enables the detection of the virus in a saliva sample.

The four diagnostic tools can detect the presence of the virus in the body quickly, usually within minutes.

The border row between India and China figured in the conversation, they said without elaborating.
