In which the number of corona infections in India is increasing rapidly, similarly the speed of corona testing is also increasing. With this, the total count of COVID-19 cases in India reached 7,93,802 on Friday, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. On Tuesday, the tally had surpassed the grim mark of seven lakh cases. In another six days, the total tally raced past the five-lakh mark.

Ministry of Public Health today recorded 557 cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 1165 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 97272.

With 267 more resolved cases over the past 24-hour period, there are now 137 fewer active cases in Ontario today. The United States remained the worst affected country as it recorded at least 62,500 new Covid-19 cases on Friday in a record daily increase for the third consecutive day. There are 2,83,407 active cases and all are under medical supervision, with severe cases being admitted in hospitals and pre-symptomatic patients and those showing moderate symptoms in home isolation.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that the country now had 1,169 labs, with 835 in the government sector and 334 in the private.

Mumbai reported 1,354 new cases and 73 deaths. These states together account for 81% of all covid-related deaths in India so far.

During Unlock 2.0, the future steps would include a sharp focus on containment and surveillance, including demarcation of containment zones and notifying such areas on the health ministry website.

Of all adults infected with Covid-19 in South Africa, 50 to 66 per cent are asymptomatic cases, with many infections going undetected, PTI reported quoting local health official.
